About the job:
As a Production Engineer at Almatis, you will provide engineering support for our production operations while contributing to process optimization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across our Calcines, Cement, and Tabular plants.
Working closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and EHS teams, you will help optimize production performance, support engineering and CAPEX projects, and ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
The role also includes supporting the implementation of new equipment, developing production standards and procedures, and identifying opportunities to improve overall plant performance and operational efficiency across Almatis manufacturing operations.
You will be responsible for:
Providing engineering support to optimize production processes, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.Monitoring production KPIs and identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, conversion costs, and customer satisfaction.Identifying operational risks and recommending preventive actions to ensure stable, safe, and reliable production.Troubleshooting production and manufacturing issues while minimizing downtime and improving equipment availability.Defining, coordinating, and implementing process improvement, CAPEX, capacity expansion, and operational excellence projects.Assisting with the selection, installation, commissioning, and integration of new production equipment.Developing and maintaining production procedures, technical documentation, and operating instructions.Delivering technical guidance and training to Operators and Production Supervisors on new processes, equipment, and Almatis operational standards.Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and Almatis operational excellence methodologies.Participating in customer complaint investigations by identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve production reliability, product quality, and overall plant performance.Supporting production planning and driving the continuous optimization of manufacturing processes and resource utilization.
About you:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing industry.Experience with production processes, engineering projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.Knowledge & Skills:
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.Ability to identify opportunities, manage priorities, and deliver sustainable improvements.Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies is an advantage.Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.Proactive, hands-on, and results-oriented mindset.Fluent English is required; Proficiency in Dutch is preferred.
