C#/.NET Software Engineer

Edinburgh (Hybrid – 2–3 days per week) £450–£475 per day - Inside IR35 Bright Purple are recruiting for an experienced C#/.Net & WinForms Developer to join a well-established investment technology team delivering enhancements and continuous improvements across a portfolio of business-critical applications. This role is ideal for a contractor who enjoys working within complex enterprise environments, balancing hands-on database development with application enhancement work across mature systems that are central to daily business operations. The Opportunity: You’ll become part of a collaborative development team responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and modernising a suite of front-office applications used by investment professionals. The focus is on delivering incremental improvements, reducing technical debt, and supporting ongoing business change initiatives. Key Responsibilities Developing and enhancing enterprise applications built on C#/.NET WinFormsDesigning and maintaining Oracle PL/SQL database objects including procedures, packages, functions, and scheduled jobsSupporting the ongoing evolution of business-critical systems and processesInvestigating and resolving complex technical issues within existing applicationsWorking closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutionsParticipating in technical design, peer reviews, testing, and release activitiesContributing to technical debt reduction and application modernisation initiatives Essential Skills Solid background in C#/.NET and WinForms developmentStrong commercial experience with PL/SQLAzure DevOps and Git source control experienceAgile delivery experience within collaborative development teamsAbility to work across the full software development lifecycle Desirable Experience Entity Framework, Angular or TypeScriptCI/CD practices and DevOps toolingService-oriented or microservice architecturesFinancial services or investment management environments Bright Purple is proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
