DevOps Engineer

Job Description: Role: DevOps Engineer Location: Virginia (Onsite) Employment Type: Contract (W2 Only) or Full-Time Interview: In-person client interview required Visa Sponsorship: Open to all visa types Experience: 5+ yrs. Exp Required Skills: Proven hands-on experience with GitLab administration and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.Solid background in Linux/Unix system administration.Strong scripting capabilities in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or Splunk.Solid understanding of networking, security, SSL/TLS, DNS, and load balancing principles.Experience with version control systems and Git-based branching strategies. Roles & Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management processes.Oversee and optimize cloud environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP.Deploy and maintain containerized applications utilizing Docker and Kubernetes.Monitor system performance, availability, and security posture.Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.Partner with development teams to streamline build, release, and deployment workflows.Diagnose and resolve production issues, supporting incident response and management.Uphold security, compliance, and operational best practices across all systems.Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation and operational runbooks.
