With a clear multi-year roll-out plan and strong investor backing, the organisation is scaling rapidly — in network footprint, customer base, and internal capabilities. The roll-out phase is nearing completion. The focus now shifts to growing the number of active home connections, improving customer activation, and scaling the commercial and operational machine behind it. This transition demands smarter processes, better tooling, and closer collaboration between operations, commercial, and IT. As the organisation professionalises its technology landscape, it is looking for a Solution Architect & Developer to help design the systems that keep the business running — and to help shape what comes next. The role This role is for a developer who is ready to take the next step: from building systems to shaping them — and from pure technology to the full chain of business, process, and technology. The organisation is not looking for a narrow specialist, but for someone who genuinely enjoys working across the stack: from requirements workshop to architecture decision to working prototype. The Solution Architect & Developer sits at the intersection of IT, business, and operations. They translate stakeholder needs into concrete IT solutions — designing the architecture, then rolling up their sleeves to build it. They facilitate workshops, model processes, and help teams move from fuzzy idea to working solution. They are the bridge between what the business needs and what technology can deliver. Because this role sits at the intersection of business, technology, and external partners, strong communication skills are essential. The right candidate can explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, challenge vendors, and bring clarity to ambiguous situations. Tasks & responsibilities Translate business needs and problems into clear requirements, user stories, and functional/technical designs — and communicate these to both technical and non-technical audiences;Analyse, model, and improve business processes together with Operations, Commercial, and Product Owners, making them clear enough to serve as a foundation for further automation;Design solution architectures that fit within the organisation's application landscape — coherent, scalable, and maintainable — and increasingly co-own the overall IT architecture and roadmap;Build, test, and iterate on mini-applications, integrations, scripts, and prototypes, with a focus on speed, quality, and scalability;Work hands-on with APIs, automation tooling, and low-code platforms to turn process improvements into working software;Facilitate workshops with stakeholders and product owners to sharpen requirements, structure decisions, and align on priorities;Collaborate closely with the CIO, Project Management, Product Owners, and the wider IT team on delivery and roadmap execution;Support and improve change management, testing, and release processes for business-critical systems. Your profile Educated to Bachelor level;A background as a software developer, full-stack engineer, or technical engineer — with clear ambition and readiness to grow into a solution architect role[Solid technical foundation: hands-on experience with full-stack development, scripting, APIs, and integrations; comfortable reading and writing code[Familiarity with process modelling (preferably BPMN) and the ability to make processes understandable and actionable for non-technical audiences;Experience working in agile environments, collaborating with product owners and iterating quickly;Strong communication skills: able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, challenge vendors, and facilitate workshops — all in the same week. This is a crucial part of the role.Strong analytical skills: able to take ambiguous business problems and turn them into concrete, actionable requirements and designs.A genuine "many hats" mentality: comfortable switching between deep technical work, process analysis, and stakeholder conversations — and genuinely enjoys all three.Pragmatic and hands-on: builds things that work today while thinking about how they will scale tomorrow.Comfortable operating in a growing organisation where structure and process are still being shaped — and where the right person can help shape them.Based near, or willing to commute to, the office south of Utrecht four days per week.
