Senior Java Developer

Senior Java Backend Engineer Join a high-impact engineering team delivering innovative digital solutions and driving digital transformation. You’ll build scalable, secure and high-performing backend systems using modern technologies including Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka and cloud platforms. You’ll play a key role in delivering technically challenging projects, working in a fast-paced environment where engineering quality, scalability and customer experience are central to what we do. What You’ll Do Develop and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot and Spring Security.Design and implement microservices and event-driven architectures using Confluent Kafka.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins and shell scripting.Develop and execute unit, integration and performance tests.Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise applications using modern observability tools.Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. Essential Skills & Experience Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot.Hands-on experience designing and developing microservices.Practical experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.Strong understanding of CI/CD, with experience using Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.Experience working with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment. Preferred Skills & Experience Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.Knowledge of Spring Security and secure coding practices.Experience with Gatling and/or JMeter for performance testing.Familiarity with New Relic and Grafana for monitoring and observability.Experience with shell scripting and automation.Exposure to AI technologies.
