Java Software Engineer

Role Summary We are seeking an API Developer with Java and Spring Boot experience to design and develop APIs. The successful candidate will work to deliver reliable RESTful services. Primary Technology Stack: Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Gi t Required Skills & Experien ceExperience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot.Understanding of REST API design principles and best practices.Experience with microservices architecture and API integration patterns.Knowledge of API security concepts JWT, TLS, and authentication/authorisation mechanisms.Experience with relational databases.Familiarity with source control systems such as Git.Understanding of automated testing practices.Ability to assess the impact of proposed API changes and plan implementation activities.Ability to communicate technical decisions, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines effectively.Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and presenting solutions to Principal Engineers.Basic understanding of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar).Ability to use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, code quality, documentation, and delivery outcomes.Key Responsibiliti esDesign, develop, test, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.Build scalable, secure, and resilient microservices and integration solutions.Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into API designs.Produce and maintain API documentation, including OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.Ensure APIs comply with enterprise security, performance, and quality standards.Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, identifying and implementing root-cause fixes.Plan and coordinate API changes, releases, and versioning strategies.Communicate technical designs, delivery plans, risks, and progress to team members and Principal Engineers.Contribute to continuous improvement of development, testing, and deployment processe s.
