Primary Responsibilities We are seeking an exceptionally talented Python Developer to join our growing technology team. This individual will be instrumental in scaling and improving our mission-critical backend and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings a track record of delivering secure, high-performance distributed systems on AWS. Design and develop scalable backend services to support customer-facing and internal applicationsDrive architectural decisions and lead efforts to evolve our backend stack for scale and maintainabilityImplement and manage account systems and platform APIs with a focus on reliability and extensibilityArchitect and implement data pipelines and infrastructure (AWS S3, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Redshift, etc.)Build and maintain serverless and event-driven systems (AWS Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, Amplify, API Gateway, etc.)Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and observability of core servicesAutomate and optimize operational workflows to improve efficiency across the firmTroubleshoot and resolve complex performance bottlenecks and system issues in productionStay current with AWS and Python ecosystem advancements and best practices Qualifications Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Backend Engineer, or a related roleAdvanced Python proficiency (3.10+), including modern features and async programmingProven expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and its inner workings (certification a plus)Strong experience with data-intensive workloads and libraries such as Pandas, PyArrow, Polars, or similar in cloud-native or distributed settingsSolid understanding of event-driven architecture, message queues and service orchestration patternsProficiency in Linux environments, system administration, and shell scriptingExperience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelinesExcellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions The salary range for this role will be between $150,000 and $225,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health/dental/vision insurance, Paid Time Off, 401(k) and other benefits eligible to employees. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience. This position follows a 4:1 hybrid work model, out of our New York City office.
