Information Technology Security Engineer

Location: Birmingham or London Hybrid: 2 days per week in the office Salary: £60K Term: 1 year fixed term contract This is a hands-on IT Security Officer role for someone who actually likes getting stuck in. You’ll be owning vulnerability management, working directly with pen test findings, managing incidents, and helping the business improve its overall security maturity this year. What you’ll be doing Owning the Tenable platform and running vulnerability management end to endReviewing pen test reports, identifying real risks, and driving remediation with engineering teamsGuiding the business on security measures and risk mitigationImplementing and improving security controls from an established control catalogueManaging security incidents from detection through resolution and escalationSupporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testingTroubleshooting and resolving security and infrastructure issuesWorking closely with risk, compliance, and IT teams in a regulated environmentHelping raise the overall security bar and improve how things are done this year You: Hands-on experience with Tenable or similar vulnerability management toolsStrong background in incident response and operational securitySolid understanding of network security, monitoring, and security toolingExperience working with pen testing outputs and vulnerability remediationKnowledge of disaster recovery and business continuityComfortable operating in a regulated or risk-aware environmentSomeone pragmatic who can translate security findings into business action What this is not Not a SOC-only roleNot a pure GRC or paperwork-heavy positionNot a senior leadership role with no hands-on work
