Senior DevOps Engineer

Design, build and operate the cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, delivery automation and engineering services that support an operationally critical technology platform. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, driving automation and building secure, scalable platforms across cloud and operational technology environments. About the Role You'll play a key role in designing, automating and supporting cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms and engineering services across AWS and isolated operational technology environments. Working with technologies including Amazon EKS, Red Hat OpenShift, Terraform, Argo CD and GitHub Actions, you'll help deliver secure, repeatable and observable engineering capabilities while improving developer productivity, deployment confidence and system quality. Key Responsibilities Design, build and manage Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure across Amazon EKS and Red Hat OpenShift.Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and configuration automation using Terraform and complementary tools.Build and operate GitOps delivery patterns using Argo CD, ApplicationSets and Helm across cloud and operational technology environments.Design reusable GitHub Actions, CI/CD workflows and engineering patterns for build, testing, security scanning, packaging and deployment.Deliver deployment tooling, traceability, rollback capabilities and readiness controls to support safe software releases.Engineer observability solutions including metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards and alerting while improving system performance, resilience and recoverability.Implement secure secrets management, machine identities, artefact repositories and software supply chain security practices.Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, networking, identity and shared services.Produce maintainable engineering solutions through code reviews, automated testing, documentation and technical standards.Mentor engineers, lead technical workstreams and collaborate with engineering, architecture, cyber security and business stakeholders.Apply AI-assisted engineering tools throughout the software development lifecycle while maintaining security, quality and accountability. What You'll Need Be a senior DevOps or Cloud Engineer who enjoys automation, platform engineering and solving complex technical challenges.Bring strong technical capability alongside excellent collaboration and communication skills.Substantial hands-on experience delivering production DevOps or cloud engineering solutions.Strong experience with Kubernetes, particularly Amazon EKS and/or Red Hat OpenShift.Advanced AWS, Linux, networking, identity and security knowledge.Extensive Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform.Strong experience with GitOps, Helm, Argo CD and modern CI/CD practices.Advanced GitHub Actions experience, including reusable workflows, runners and security controls.Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation.Experience implementing observability and troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application environments.Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly within production environments. Skills & Attributes Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, container platforms and modern DevOps engineering practices.Ability to design secure, scalable and reusable engineering solutions.Experience implementing secure engineering controls including secrets management, artefact management and least privilege principles.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and technical leadership skills.Excellent stakeholder engagement, mentoring and communication abilities.
