We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our high-performing technical team in Reston, VA. In this role, you will architect, design, and implement innovative cloud solutions that harness the full potential of modern cloud technologies. You will build secure, scalable cloud infrastructures and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, optimized performance, and the efficient delivery of mission-aligned capabilities. Responsibilities Analyze and decompose requirements to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure cloud architectures aligned with mission objectivesLead the design and implementation of advanced cloud solutions with a strong emphasis on resilience, performance, and industry-standard security practicesEvaluate and adopt emerging cloud technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve system capabilities and enhance performanceDevelop and enforce cloud governance strategies ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and security frameworksOversee automation of deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows to reduce manual effort and increase system efficiencyCreate, manage, and secure cloud-based operating system images across multiple classification domains using AWS AMIsCollaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to support integration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and lifecycle maintenancePromote collaboration, mentorship, and continuous knowledge sharing across technical teams Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldUS citizenship with active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and maintaining advanced cloud solutionsDemonstrated expertise in AWS environments supporting multiple classification domains (e.g., IL5 to IL6+)Proficiency with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and EBSStrong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AnsibleProficiency managing and securing Linux and Windows Server systems in production environmentsHands-on scripting experience using Python and Bash for cloud automationStrong understanding of cloud security best practices and implementation of advanced security controlsExperience supporting operational environments, managing ticket queues, and leveraging knowledge bases for issue resolutionExcellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical topics to diverse audiencesActive CompTIA Security+ or equivalent 8140/8570 certification (valid for at least one year)Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate/Professional or SysOps Administrator) preferred Please note: we are not working with staffing agencies to fill these positions and are not accepting any unsolicited resumes from agencies. #Onsite The Swift Group and Subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
