The Role
As a Mid-Level Forward Deployed Engineer, you will contribute directly to the development and deployment of mission-critical software capabilities supporting government customers.
You'll build analytical applications, dashboards, data workflows, and AI-enabled solutions while supporting CI/CD processes and working in an agile engineering environment alongside senior engineers and end users.
Key Responsibilities
Provide embedded engineering support within a mission-focused software environment, partnering with operational users and senior engineers to deliver capabilities aligned with customer needs.Design and maintain data integration pipelines, data models, and semantic data structures to enable consistent interpretation and analysis across the platform.Develop applications, dashboards, workflows, and AI-enabled capabilities using modern low-code and custom development frameworks.Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, and technical planning by translating user needs into well-defined engineering tasks.Contribute to production readiness by supporting CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment processes, and release management.Support ongoing platform sustainment through troubleshooting, defect resolution, and continuous enhancement of deployed capabilities.Produce technical documentation, including system configurations, implementation guides, and operational runbooks.Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and stakeholder demonstrations.Perform testing and validation to ensure applications, workflows, and data products meet functional and quality requirements.Identify technical risks and integration challenges early while collaborating with teammates to develop effective solutions.
Qualifications
Experience building data-intensive applications, analytics platforms, or enterprise software solutions.3+ years of software engineering experience.Proficiency with Python, TypeScript, Java, or similar programming languages.Experience developing data pipelines, ETL processes, APIs, or cloud-native applications.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software delivery practices.Experience supporting government, defense, or other highly regulated environments is preferred.Ability to independently develop, test, and deploy production-quality software.Comfortable working in small, fast-paced, cross-functional engineering teams.
