Description

Vice President of Business Development Location: Los Angeles, California Type: Full time, on site Base Salary: $200,000 Performance Compensation: Uncapped Additional Compensation: Benefits and stock options The OpportunityWarp is hiring an elite individual contributor to find, close, and grow the customers that are the perfect fit for our network. This position includes a $200,000 base salary with the opportunity to earn: $1 million for every $30 million in qualifying net new revenue or every $3 million in qualifying contribution profit you personally originate and close. Each additional threshold earns another $1 million. There is no compensation cap. This isn’t a traditional sales management role. You won’t be hired to manage a large team or supervise other people’s pipelines. You’ll be hired to personally create substantial new revenue and profit for Warp. The right person already knows where to find our next great customers, who the decision makers are, and how to turn those relationships into large, profitable, long term accounts. About Warp Warp is building a technology powered freight network connecting shippers, carriers, warehouses, and cross docks across North America. Our business has doubled every year for the past three years. Customers use Warp for LTL, full truckload, box truck, cargo van, store replenishment, inbound consolidation, zone skipping, cross docking, warehousing, and final mile delivery. We already have the technology, transportation network, warehouse network, operating experience, and customer credibility required to support hundreds of millions of dollars in additional business. What You’ll Do • Identify the companies and freight profiles that are the strongest fit for Warp • Personally originate and close major commercial opportunities • Build relationships with founders, executives, and supply chain leaders • Understand each customer’s freight network, costs, service requirements, and operational problems • Design solutions using Warp’s transportation network, warehouse network, technology platform, and APIs • Work directly with Warp’s founders, operations, product, engineering, finance, and legal teams • Own opportunities from the first conversation through contracting, launch, expansion, and long term performance • Expand successful accounts across new services, facilities, regions, and business units Performance Compensation You’ll earn a $1 million performance award for every incremental $30 million in qualifying net new revenue or every incremental $3 million in qualifying contribution profit that you personally originate and close. Performance is reviewed and certified quarterly. Awards under $500,000 are paid within 45 days after the applicable quarter ends. Awards of $500,000 or more are paid in two installments: • 50 percent within 45 days after quarterly certification • 50 percent six months later following a final financial review Qualifying revenue must be recognized, collected, and contribution positive. The same business can’t be counted twice. Full attribution, qualification, calculation, and payment terms will be documented in the written compensation plan. Who We’re Looking For • You have personally found, closed, and grown major enterprise accounts • You know which companies and freight profiles are the best fit for Warp • You already have relationships with senior decision makers across retail, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, technology, marketplaces, or supply chain • You know how to create your own opportunities without relying on inbound leads or a large support team • You understand revenue, contribution profit, margin, implementation costs, and account economics • You can move from an executive meeting into the operational details required to launch the business successfully • You’re independent, urgent, competitive, and capable of building major business from nothing Why Warp Most business development roles ask you to inherit a territory, manage a pipeline, and hit someone else’s quota. This role is different. Warp has doubled every year for the past three years, and we believe we’re still at the beginning. The technology, network, operating infrastructure, and customer credibility are already in place. Now we need someone who can see the opportunities others miss and turn them into our next $100 million in profitable revenue. You’ll work directly with the founders, have the freedom to pursue transformational relationships, and get paid like an owner when you create exceptional value. If you already know which customers Warp should win and you have the ability to go win them, this could be the most financially rewarding individual contributor role of your career.
