About The Role Sage is seeking a talented Salesforce Developer to join its Product Engineering Team in Winnersh, UK. This hybrid role requires working onsite three days a week, with the remaining days flexible for remote work. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Salesforce solutions for Sage’s flagship SaaS product, Sage People. This platform is a comprehensive HR and people management system built on the Salesforce platform, serving a global customer base. As a hands-on developer, you will focus on coding and system architecture rather than administration or consultancy. Hands-on experience developing with Salesforce Lightning components, Apex, SOQL, and JavaScript is essential. Candidates should have a track record of delivering solutions directly on the Salesforce platform, translating complex business needs into scalable technical solutions. Familiarity with modern development tools such as Git, Jira, IntelliJ, and CI/CD pipelines is advantageous. Salesforce Developer Certification is preferred but not mandatory. Additionally, candidates with experience in REST APIs and a strong desire to learn and grow within the Salesforce ecosystem are highly valued. Responsibilities The successful Salesforce Developer will be responsible for a range of technical and collaborative tasks, including: Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Salesforce solutions tailored for a global SaaS environment.Working hands-on with Apex, SOQL, JavaScript, and Salesforce Lightning / Lightning Web Components (LWC) to build robust features.Implementing customer and people management functionalities within the Salesforce platform.Translating complex business requirements into scalable, efficient technical solutions, ensuring alignment with product architecture and long-term goals.Participating in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and contributing to system thinking to optimize platform performance.Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Salesforce developers, frontend engineers, testers, product managers, and architects.Utilizing modern development tools and workflows such as Git, Jira, IntelliJ, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient delivery.Engaging in Scrum or SAFe ceremonies, quarterly planning, and product releases to maintain agile workflows.Contributing to a product roadmap that increasingly incorporates AI-driven capabilities, enhancing the platform’s intelligence and automation features.Ensuring that all development work is hands-on, coding-focused, and aligned with best practices, avoiding administrative or configuration-only tasks.
