About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with a focus on CI/CD pipelines, virtualization, and automation to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the CI/CD build chains for our simulation software across multiple software generations.
Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and optimizing proprietary monitoring tools to oversee simulation systems effectively.
You will lead initiatives to introduce and enhance virtualization and automation solutions, ensuring the seamless operation and high availability of our internal IT systems and tools.
The position involves defining system requirements, developing system architectures, and ensuring platform scalability and stability.
Additionally, there is an opportunity to take on a leadership role by managing a team of 7 to 9 professionals, fostering their development through mentoring and performance management.
You will also coordinate sprint planning and reviews, acting as a central point of contact to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects, while facilitating collaboration across departments.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a degree in a scientific discipline or an equivalent qualification, with substantial experience in DevOps, CI/CD, virtualization, and IT system administration.
Proven expertise in automating system installations, configurations, software deployment, and system monitoring is essential.
You should possess strong knowledge of DevOps principles and have a track record of designing and optimizing technical processes.
Familiarity with defining and implementing complex system and software architectures is highly desirable, especially in the context of IT or simulation systems.
Proficiency with tools such as GitLab, Artifactory, Docker, Jenkins, Hyper-V, VMware, and both Windows and Linux operating systems is expected.
Additional skills in scripting languages like Python, Bash, PowerShell, and monitoring tools such as Grafana will enhance your profile.
Candidates must demonstrate a self-driven work ethic, excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, effective time management, and the ability to assertively drive projects forward.
Fluency in German and English, along with willingness to undertake national and international travel, completes the profile.

As a central liaison, you will coordinate between technical teams and other departments, overseeing the quality of deliverables and ensuring projects are completed on time.
