The Role As a Solana Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you will help deploy, operate, and monitor Solana Company's validator portfolio across the Pacific Backbone footprint (Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul). This is an entry-level institutional infrastructure role as we look to incubate the next generation of blockchain talents. Reporting to the Tech Lead, Solana Infrastructure, you will work directly under senior engineers on production systems serving regulated counterparties and ecosystem partners — executing hands-on infrastructure work across node setup, monitoring, scripting, and documentation, while building deep expertise in Solana validator operations. This role suits recent graduates with strong technical fundamentals and the drive to go deep on Solana infrastructure, with real runway to grow into ownership as the business scales. Key Responsibilities You will work directly with our senior engineers across the following: 1. Validator and Network Infrastructure • Infrastructure support: Assist senior engineers in deploying and maintaining validator nodes across our regional footprint. • Lifecycle execution: Support the full validator lifecycle — from setup and activation through to monitoring and routine optimization, under senior direction. • Client diversity: Help operate and benchmark different validator client implementations (e.g., Agave, Firedancer, Jito-Solana) to support performance and reliability. 2. Performance and Transaction Optimization • Configuration support: Assist in testing and deploying transaction-optimization and MEV-related configurations to improve throughput and performance. • Testing and validation: Run testnet validation across client versions, support rollback procedures, and monitor post-deployment performance against defined targets. • Protocol tracking: Track Solana network and client upgrades, and surface the implications for our operations to senior engineers. 3. Monitoring and Operations • Fleet monitoring: Maintain monitoring stacks and dashboards; triage alerts and escalate incidents per defined runbooks. • Tooling and automation: Build and maintain scripts for deployment, monitoring, and routine operational tasks. • Documentation: Maintain runbooks, configuration records, and operational logs to a rigorous standard. 4. Security and Release Support • Release execution: Support node upgrades and patches under established release frameworks, targeting high availability and minimal operational risk. • Security operations: Apply security policies covering key management, validator hardening, and incident response under senior oversight. • ISMS support: Contribute to security and compliance readiness work (e.g., ISO 27001 / SOC 2) as directed. 5. Coordination and Reporting • Project support: Track milestones, dependencies, and status; prepare reporting inputs for the team. • Partner coordination: Support technical coordination with infrastructure providers and ecosystem partners, under senior direction. Qualifications Technical stack and experience: You don't need to tick every box. We hire for strong fundamentals, troubleshooting instinct, and the drive to go deep. Experience across several of these areas will set you up to succeed: • 0 to 2 years in DevOps, SRE, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering, including internships, academic work, or substantial personal projects. A strong technical degree (Computer Science, Engineering, or related) or a demonstrable self-taught equivalent. • Strong Linux fundamentals and fluency on the command line for system-level operations, plus a solid grasp of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls). • Understanding of RPC and gRPC, and how clients and applications interact with node endpoints. • Scripting and automation in Python and/or Bash, turning manual, one-off tasks into repeatable, reliable workflows. • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code and configuration management. Ansible and/or Terraform a strong plus. • Familiarity with monitoring and observability stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana, or similar, and the instinct to alert on symptoms rather than just outages. • Willingness to take part in an on-call rotation, with guidance and support from the team. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, rigorous written documentation such as runbooks, and clear communication. • A genuine interest in blockchain infrastructure and the drive to build deep expertise in Solana validator operations. Strong pluses (not required): • Hands-on Solana validator exposure, or a working understanding of Solana primitives such as Proof of History, Sealevel, and Gulf Stream. • Experience with bare-metal or data-center infrastructure, or low-latency performance tuning. In this environment, milliseconds matter. • Familiarity with validator clients such as Agave, Firedancer, and Jito-Solana, or with MEV concepts such as Jito and SWQoS. • Systems-level programming in Rust, C/C++, or Go for those who want to go deeper into client internals. • Exposure to security and compliance practice, including key management and ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
