Associate Web Developer

We are looking for an Associate Web Developer to support our team as we assist a major Italian infrastructure firm with its expansion. This role focuses on building the technical tools and data visualizations necessary to test financial assumptions and clarify capital allocation strategies. About Blue Oak Consulting Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P&L complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. The Role As an Associate Web Developer at Blue Oak, you will work in a fully remote capacity to bridge the gap between financial analysis and clear technical presentation. You will be building and maintaining internal tools that help our principals visualize complex datasets for the Italian infrastructure project. This is not a role about flashy design or consumer facing apps: it is about creating functional, accurate interfaces that help us find the logic in a financial case. What You Will Be Doing Developing internal web dashboards to track capital allocation metrics for our clients. Creating data visualizations that reveal where value is leaking in large scale infrastructure projects. Collaborating with senior advisors to translate financial models into interactive web tools. Cleaning and formatting raw financial data to ensure it displays correctly in our proprietary applications. Maintaining the codebase for project specific tools and ensuring they remain reliable during client reviews. Testing web interfaces to ensure they accurately reflect the underlying economic assumptions. Managing version control for project repositories to keep development organized and traceable. Documenting the technical logic used to build these financial reporting tools. What You Bring Basic knowledge of front end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Some familiarity with data visualization libraries such as D3.js, Chart.js, or similar tools. A degree or background in computer engineering, finance, or a related field where data is central. An interest in how financial decisions are made and a desire to learn about portfolio economics. Strong attention to detail and a preference for accuracy over aesthetic flair. The ability to work independently and manage your own tasks in a remote environment. A skeptical mindset that likes to verify whether the data on the screen matches the source.
