Sr. Python Developer – Capital Markets Number of openings: 1, 12-Month initial contract Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite) Must be eligible to work in Canada Roles and responsibilities: We are seeking a Senior Python Developer with a strong background in Capital Markets to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade services for Capital, Prime Brokerage (PB), and Liquidity Risk (LCR) reporting platforms. In this role, you will work closely with business users and cross-functional engineering teams to translate complex regulatory and risk requirements into robust technical solutions. Key Responsibilities Design & Engineering: Architect and implement high-performance Python services and automated data processing jobs integrated with enterprise job schedulers.Business Collaboration: Partner directly with business stakeholders to refine requirements, map upstream/downstream data dependencies, and deliver scalable risk-reporting solutions.Database & Performance Optimization: Write, tune, and optimize complex SQL Server (T-SQL) and MySQL queries to ensure seamless data flow and query performance.Production Support: Troubleshoot production bottlenecks, ensure code quality via unit testing and logging, and support environment deployments. Must have skills/ experience/qualifications Python Expertise: Advanced hands-on experience in Python development within service-oriented architectures.Capital Markets Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of Capital Markets, specifically Capital, PB, or Liquidity Risk (LCR) reporting business logic.Database Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL) performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization, along with MySQL experience.Data Processing & Pipelines: Proven track record building and managing data pipelines, job scheduling, and handling complex data dependencies.Engineering Standards: Experience with Git, Agile workflows, debugging production environments, and CI/CD release support.Nice to Have Prior experience in regulatory reporting frameworks within large financial institutions.Are you looking to post this directly on LinkedIn, or do you need a shorter email/InMail pitch to send directly to candidates?
