Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer – Fusion Operations
Location: Portugal (Hybrid/Remote options available)
Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our Fusion Operations team in Portugal.
Fusion Operations is a cloud-based Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that provides real-time visibility into production processes—from raw materials to final delivery.
It enables manufacturers to optimize scheduling, track inventory, monitor operations, and ensure product quality and compliance.
We’re looking for an engineer who is passionate about building scalable, real-world solutions and has strong experience across the full web application stack.
You will play a key role in designing and delivering reliable, high-impact features used by customers globally.
What You’ll Do
Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of real-time, business-critical applicationsBuild clean, secure, scalable, and maintainable full-stack solutionsCollaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality featuresReview code, provide constructive feedback, and drive engineering best practicesTroubleshoot and resolve production issues using effective debugging techniquesDevelop and maintain automated tests to improve code quality and coverageLeverage AWS services (e.g., S3, SQS, RDS) to build scalable cloud solutionsContribute to system reliability and performance through monitoring and improvementsMentor junior engineers and support their technical growthParticipate in an on-call rotation to support production systems
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)+5 years of experience building and delivering scalable web applicationsStrong proficiency in Java and solid understanding of its ecosystemExperience with frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)Understanding of RESTful APIs and MVC architectureExperience with MySQL or other relational databasesHands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud platformsExperience with Docker and containerized environmentsFamiliarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environmentsFluent in English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant fieldExperience with Java frameworks such as Spring or PlayExperience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js)Experience with Elasticsearch or similar search technologiesExperience with test automation tools (JUnit, Selenium, etc.)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins)Knowledge of build tools (Maven, Gradle, Ant)Understanding of event-driven architectures
