Department: National Disability Insurance Agency Estimated start date: Monday, 10 August 2026 Contract duration: 12 months + 12 months extension Experience level: APS6,EL1 equivalent Location of work: QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW, SA Working arrangements type: Hybrid (3 days ofc + 2 days WFH) Maximum hours: 37.5 hours per week Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline The NDIA, Technology Services Division (TSD) is undertaking major work programs to deliver innovative fit-for-need ICT-based solutions to improve the National Disability Insurance Scheme. The APS6 DevOps Engineer (Labour Hire) will be responsible to design and implement RESTful APIs to support various application functionalities. Key duties and responsibilities Develop and maintain real-time dashboards for monitoring application performance and user metrics.Identify issues and/or errors and support the resolution of any technical problems that arise during iterations.Develop and maintain applications and scripts that reduces development chores.Implement APIs to support various application functionalities and integrate with ALM tooling such as Gitlab, Jira, Microsoft Teams.Define a plan to optimize Scheme Digital Platforms application performance and support designing, building, testing, and maintaining the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) process.Demonstrate effective communication for collaborating with team members and stakeholdersSupport DevOps initiatives such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, code deployment and system automation, ultimately ensuring that complex systems are operating optimally.Essential criteria At least 2 to 3 years’ experience a role involving development of full stack applications on NodeJs using frameworks such as React/Vue/Next.js.Demonstrated experience with Atlassian Jira, VSCode and DevOps practices.Implement APIs to support various application functionalities and integrate with ALM tooling such as Gitlab, Jira, Microsoft TeamsDevelop and maintain real-time dashboards for monitoring application performance and user metrics.Demonstrate effective communication for collaborating with team members and stakeholdersDesirable criteria Experience with GitLab build/deployment pipelines creation, maintenance and monitoring.Comfortable with new ways of thinking about accessibility and enthusiastic about accessible design & development will be highly regarded.Designing and managing intelligent CI/CD automation where AI agents execute discrete, permission-constrained tasks (e.g., auto-remediation, documentation, or testing).
