Backend Engineer

We are representing a major global player in the online delivery and convenience space who is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their Partner Support technology division in Sofia. My client operates an expansive platform connecting millions of users with food and retail partners worldwide, and they are looking for a developer to help revolutionize how they interact with their business partners. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing high tech solutions, specifically focusing on a new AI voice initiative designed to provide real time assistance to partners. You will bridge the gap between telephony systems, human support staff, and AI agents through robust API integrations and distributed architectural patterns. This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week at their modern office in Sofia and two days working from home. Key responsibilities include Producing clean, maintainable, and well documented code Taking full ownership of features from the design phase through to production Developing and maintaining API and MCP integrations between various platforms Managing and evolving the internal telephony infrastructure Contributing to strategic technical discussions regarding AI, architecture, and infrastructure Applying industry best practices to balance development speed with software quality Exploring and implementing new tools to improve system efficiency To be successful in this application, you should bring Professional software engineering experience with a deep focus on C# Experience building APIs using MVC architecture and the .NET framework A solid grasp of HTTP, REST, and software fundamentals like domain driven design Understanding of event driven architecture and data structures Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Experience with CI/CD pipelines and meaningful unit testing Knowledge of observability metrics and their role in system health Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in an agile environment My client offers a dynamic, fast paced culture that celebrates growth and collaboration.
