We're hiring for both Senior and Lead QA Engineers to join a talented team of dynamic, driven professional problem solvers, creative thinkers and solutions builders who thrive on helping public sector and civic clients meet exciting digital transformation challe nges. Th e Role As a QA Engineer, you'll apply your expertise in test planning, design, development and maintenance, while contributing to the ongoing growth of the QA capability within the Engineering disc ipline. You'll take responsibility for quality assurance across services and projects that underpin critical public infrastructure and services, working closely with Lead Engineers, DevOps, and multi-disciplinary teams to build robust, repeatable, high-quality testing practices - helping deliver some of the UK's most important tech-for-good p rojects. What You'll Be Doing Planning, designing, developing and executing tests to assure high-quality software solutions for public sector and civic-impact projectsTaking responsibility for QA of services or parts of larger services across design, build, assure, deploy, operate and continually improve stagesWorking with Lead Engineers to understand designs and maintain up-to-date, repeatable test scriptsCollaborating with DevOps engineers to implement CI/CD pipelines supporting ongoing quality assuranceBuilding effective working relationships with client counterparts across government and public sector bodiesCollaborating across Engineering, User-Centred Design, Service Operations, Delivery Management and Data Science disciplinesPlaying an active role in driving innovation, best practice and Community of Practice events(Lead level) Structuring and providing assurance for the work of other QA pra ctitioners What We're Looking For Experience in Quality Assurance across the full software development lifecycle, including functional and automated testingExperience with cloud-based solutions (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure)Experience working in agile, Continuous Integration environments (Scrum, Jira, Confluence)Effective communicator, able to explain complex information to clients and colleaguesExperience with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JMeter, BlazeMeter, BrowserStack, Cucumber/Gherkin, OWASP ZAP, SonarQubeExperience in non-functional QA practices: performance benchmarking, resilience/chaos testing, scalability, accessibility and security (penetration) testingWillingness to maintain up-to-date skills through CPD, including ce rtifications Nice to Have Experience in a professional services/consultancy environmentFamiliarity with the GOV.UK Digital Service Standard and Technology Code of PracticeExperience structuring and assuring work for less experienced team members (Lead level)Experience taking ownership of QA on projects or parts of l arger projects Why You'll Want This Role Work on genuinely meaningful #tech4good projects across healthcare, sustainability, civil defence and digital democracyPlay a direct role in shaping high-quality, safety-critical public services used at national scaleCertified Great Place to Work® with a genuinely supportive, flexible cultureExcellent career development, including funded certifications and professional development programmesStrong benefits package: hybrid working, private healthcare, enhanced parental leave, profit share, generous holiday allowance and moreJoin a values-led team focused on Innovation, Excellence and Integrity, working on projects that make a re al public impact If you're an experienced QA Engineer looking to join a mission-led consultancy where your work directly improves public services and civic life, I'd be happy to tell you more.
