Software Development Engineer

Vector Synergy is a prime contractor for NATO and European Union agencies. For one of our clients, we are looking for a Software Development Engineer with NATO Secret security clearance to support the delivery and further development of Integrated Command and Control-related capabilities. 📍 Location: The Hague, the Netherlands 🏢 Work model: Full-time, fully on-site 📄 Contract type: B2B 🔐 Security clearance: Valid NATO Secret Security Clearance is mandatory Key responsibilities Developing, deploying and maintaining backend services and server-side application componentsBuilding solutions using Java and PythonDesigning and working with relational databases, SQL queries and data modelsMaintaining source code and development workflows using GitSupporting automated build, testing and deployment processes through Jenkins or GitLab CI/CDCreating and maintaining automated testsWorking with applications deployed in Linux environmentsBuilding and operating containerized applications using Docker or PodmanTranslating UI/UX concepts into responsive web applications using Angular or ReactInvestigating and resolving issues in existing and legacy codebasesSupporting the modernization and gradual improvement of older applications Essential experience Strong, recent commercial experience with both Java and PythonSolid knowledge of SQL and database schema designPractical experience with Git-based development workflowsExperience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or comparable CI/CD toolingGood understanding of automated testing practicesHands-on experience working with LinuxExperience with Docker, Podman or similar container technologiesFrontend development experience with Angular or ReactExperience debugging and improving legacy software systems Nice to have Experience with some of the following would be an advantage: SpringHibernateProtocol BuffersgRPCKubernetesAnsibleEvent streaming technologiesCommand and Control systemsIntegrated Command and Control applications Due to the classified nature of the project, only candidates holding a valid NATO Secret Security Clearance can be considered.
