About The Role The University of Iowa Libraries is seeking a Full Stack Web Application Developer to join its Library Information Technology (LIT) team. This role involves designing, developing, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting web-based applications and software solutions that enhance access to library resources and services. The developer will conduct system analysis, create technical specifications, and provide technical leadership and training to library staff. Supported applications include both open-source and commercial systems, such as the Iowa Digital Library (Islandora) and ArchivesSpace for library finding aids. Reporting to the Administrative Lead, the successful candidate will work collaboratively within the LIT unit to support public discovery and access initiatives, ensuring that library services are accessible, efficient, and aligned with the university’s strategic goals. The role requires effective communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders, including librarians, students, faculty, and researchers, and a proactive approach to supporting the library’s mission within a major research university environment.
