Job Title: Senior Frontend Developer (React.js & Next.js) Location: 100% Remote, Canada Job Type: T4 Contract Experience: 5+ Years Rate: CAD 70 to 80 per hour Role Summary We are hiring for a Senior Frontend Developer (React.js & Next.js) to help build and enhance modern, high-performance web applications for a client project focused on delivering scalable digital experiences. You'll work with modern frontend technologies, cloud platforms, and cross-functional teams to create responsive, accessible, and highly optimized user experiences. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain large-scale frontend applications using React.js and Next.js. Develop responsive, accessible, and SEO-friendly user interfaces. Implement server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and edge rendering using Next.js. Integrate frontend applications with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful. Build and enhance visual authoring tools, WYSIWYG editors, or drag-and-drop page building experiences. Implement personalization features based on customer behavior, audience segments, or AI-driven recommendations. Integrate A/B testing and experimentation platforms into frontend applications. Collaborate with backend teams to consume REST and GraphQL APIs. Work with cloud-native applications deployed on AWS. Contribute to design systems and reusable UI component libraries. Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern development workflows. Optimize application performance for globally distributed users through CDN integrations. Must-Have Skills 5+ years of experience building modern frontend applications. Strong expertise with React.js. Strong experience with Next.js, including SSR, SSG, and edge rendering. Experience integrating with CDN platforms such as Akamai or Cloudflare. Hands-on experience with Contentful or another headless CMS such as Sanity, Strapi, Adobe AEM Headless, or Prismic. Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, SEO, and web performance optimization. Experience working with REST APIs and GraphQL APIs. Experience with AWS services and cloud-native application development. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices. Experience contributing to design systems. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience building or extending WYSIWYG website builders or visual content authoring platforms. Experience with A/B testing tools such as Optimizely, Adobe Target, LaunchDarkly, or GrowthBook. Experience implementing personalization capabilities based on customer segments, user behavior, or AI-driven recommendations. Exposure to microservices-based architectures.
