Job Description NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work onsite at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 4 days/week in order to be considered for this position. Nordstrom has an opportunity for a Software Engineer 2 to join the team. As an Engineer 2, you will be a key member of the Nordstrom Technology team. You will apply scientific, mathematical, and social principles to design, build, and maintain technology products, devices, systems, and solutions that provide amazing customer experiences while meeting the needs of the business. A day in the life… Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs that ingest, enrich, and distribute product dataPartner with product, platform, and engineering teams to understand how product data flows and how to improve itOwn features end-to-end—architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iterationContribute to system design and code reviews, helping to uphold high engineering standardsInvestigate and resolve production issues quickly and thoroughlyDrive continuous improvement across system performance, reliability, and developer experience You own this if you have… Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience3–5 years of experience building and maintaining production-grade software systemsProficiency in Java, Kotlin, or another modern backend languageExperience with REST APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud-native architecturesFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)Comfort working in high-throughput, data-centric environments with a history of shipping features fast and iterativelyExperience in retail, commerce, or product/catalog data platforms is a plus Pay Range Details The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws.
