About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our client's dynamic engineering team based in Hertfordshire. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to work on large-scale web applications and contribute significantly to the development and enhancement of critical business systems. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust PHP-based solutions, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including QA, product managers, and stakeholders, to deliver innovative technical solutions that meet business objectives. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in PHP development, with proven experience in building scalable web applications without heavy reliance on frameworks. A solid understanding of relational databases such as MySQL or MariaDB is essential, along with proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and web application architecture. Experience working within Linux-based environments is required, coupled with a good grasp of secure coding practices and software engineering principles. The candidate should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team setting. Desirable qualifications include familiarity with caching and performance optimization technologies, knowledge of distributed storage solutions, exposure to CI/CD pipelines, and understanding of SEO and large-scale web platforms.
