Cloudera is looking for a Private Cloud & Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team in Prague. You will own the day-to-day operations of our private cloud platform - monitoring health, managing resources, enforcing governance, and ensuring consumers get reliable, efficient service. You will also contribute to our wider infrastructure operations, supporting compute and storage services across data center environments. This is a hands-on operational role with real ownership. You are the person between the platform and its users - keeping it running well, holding consumers accountable for efficiency, and reporting clearly on operational state. As a Private Cloud & Infrastructure Operations Engineer you will: Monitor platform health, utilisation, and capacity across all private cloud environmentsManage compute provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle operationsTrack resource utilisation and deliver reporting - driving efficiency and accountabilityManage quotas, resolve capacity issues, and plan for growthProvide first-line operational support - triage incidents, apply known fixes, escalate appropriatelyEnforce operational standards, access controls, and governance policiesManage environment intake and provisioning for consumersSupport compute and storage infrastructure operations (server lifecycle, Ceph storage, shared services)Maintain operational documentation and runbooksParticipate in on-call rotation for infrastructure servicesContribute to infrastructure efficiency and automation initiatives We are excited if you have (Required Experience): Relevant studies / BS or MS in related field or equivalent experience3+ years operating cloud or virtualised infrastructure at scaleStrong Linux systems administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)Hands-on experience with distributed storage (Ceph preferred) or SAN operationsExperience with monitoring stacks, dashboards, alerting, and capacity planningVirtualisation experience (KVM, VMware, or similar)A governance mindset - comfortable enforcing standards, reporting compliance, holding consumers accountable for wasteAbility to author and maintain clear runbooks, procedures, and operational documentationStrong communication - can translate technical state into clear reporting for stakeholders You may also have: OpenStack or Taikun operational experience (strongly preferred)Kubernetes cluster operations (node management, cluster lifecycle)Server hardware lifecycle (rack, commission, decommission, IPMI/iDRAC/iLO)Automation experience (Ansible, Terraform, scripting)ITSM/ITIL awareness (incident, change, problem management)Team leadership or mentoring experienceFinOps or cost attribution experience What you can expect from us: Generous PTO Policy Support work life balance with Unplugged DaysFlexible WFH Policy Mental & Physical Wellness programs Phone and Internet Reimbursement program Access to Continued Career Development Comprehensive Benefits and Competitive Packages Paid Volunteer TimeEmployee Resource Groups EEO/VEVRAA
