Senior Python Engineer
📍 San Francisco, CA (Onsite – 5 days/week)
Compensation: $200,000–$260,000 Base + Equity
We’re partnering with a fast-growing AI infrastructure startup that’s building the developer platform powering the next generation of AI applications.
They’re looking for a Senior Python Engineer to build scalable backend systems and AI infrastructure used by developers around the world.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Python.Build APIs and infrastructure that power AI applications and LLM workflows.Develop distributed systems focused on reliability, scalability, and performance.Optimize backend services for latency, throughput, and observability.Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver production-ready features.Drive technical decisions and contribute to the overall architecture of the platform.
Requirements
5+ years of professional software engineering experience.Strong expertise in Python.Experience building scalable backend systems and REST APIs.Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.Strong communication skills and experience working in fast-paced startup environments.
Nice to Have
Experience with AI/ML infrastructure or LLM applications.Familiarity with frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.Experience integrating APIs from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.Experience with vector databases, RAG pipelines, or model serving.Previous startup experience.
