Description

Key Responsibilities • Expected to design and build scalable Java 11+ microservices and full‑stack features, leveraging multithreading and Kafka-based event streaming to deliver high‑performance, resilient solutions for multiple regulatory applications • Responsible for implementing data access and persistence using MongoDB and SQL/PLSQL, while ensuring production readiness through centralized logging/observability (ELK) and strong troubleshooting practices. • Implement event-driven integrations using Kafka (topics, producers/consumers) to enable reliable asynchronous processing across services. • Build and maintain full-stack features (UI + API layers) and integrate with downstream services/APIs as required. • Apply multithreading/concurrency concepts where needed for performance, throughput, and responsiveness in backend processing (e.g., scheduled jobs / high-volume flows). • Design and optimize persistence/data access using MongoDB and RDBMS (SQL/PLSQL), including query optimization and schema-level considerations. • Enable strong observability and troubleshooting by leveraging centralized logging/monitoring practices and tools such as ELK and related platforms. • Support CI/CD and deployment readiness by working with containerized/microservices ecosystems (e.g., Docker/OpenShift patterns used in similar Citi programs). • Participate in production support and engineering excellence—analyzing alerts, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing fixes to maintain stability. • Work experience on the transactional applications for low latency, high availability uses is a plus • Work experience on the distributed caching solutions is a plus • Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment and to learn new frameworks/stacks • Adherence to clean coding principles, design patterns, and best practices to produce maintainable, readable, and efficient code 7+ Years of experience Engineering Excellence & Best Practices • Drive the adoption of modern engineering ways of working, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD. • Advocate for automated testing, infrastructure as code, and continuous monitoring to enhance software reliability. • Apply Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and unit testing to ensure code quality and functionality. • Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices in readability, performance, and security. • Implement and enforce secure coding practices, performing vulnerability assessments and ensuring compliance with security standards. • Collaborate effectively in agile environments, embracing DevOps principles and fostering a culture of continuous delivery and improvement Technical Leadership & Collaboration • Partner with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to design scalable and distributed systems. • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning. • Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to optimize deployments, observability, and production resilience. • Lead technical discussions, contribute to design documentation, and provide guidance on modern software architecture. Domain: • Knowledge of various Fixed Income products and industry mandated regulatory reporting is a plus
