Project Overview

The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia.
It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people.
The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.
Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure.
Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.
Job Summary
Mechanical Field Engineer reports to Lead Mechanical Field Engineer and is responsible for activities relating to construction engineering within the mechanical disciplines.
Duties include interpreting mechanical design drawings and specifications, field verification of materials, and technical direction to field mechanical personnel.
In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination.
Your recommendations will ensure field engineering In this role, you will support construction Superintendents develop work scope packages and cost estimates for a project’s mechanical aspects including complex major equipment packages.
This role is offered on a 2:1 roster FIFO to Cloncurry, QLD.

Major Responsibilities
Completion of field testing and inspection and processing of related construction engineering documentation.
Documentation will include various pumping and piping installation test records, construction completion records, as built drawings and non-conformance reports.Leading and assisting mechanical engineering activities for projects and ensuring that project execution plans, and the development of the design is in accordance with project scope, timeframe and standards.Monitoring and assisting in maintaining all required engineering design as per the project Quality Assurance/Control and project procedures.Assisting with scope and budget development in response to clients’ needs.Development of concept and detailed pumping and piping system designs and related creation of construction deliverables including scopes of work, process and instrument diagrams, Material take offs, connection details and work method statements.Coordinates mechanical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups Support the creation of a work environment that fosters liberal, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation and satisfaction.Mentors and assists more junior team members
Education And Experience Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience (CPEng preferred)Experience in engineering of process plants or materials handling plants in Australia.
Required Knowledge And Skills
Strong knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures and the interaction with the other disciplinesExperience and proven ability to manage mechanical engineering packagesExperience in mechanical construction practices and current knowledge of new methods of design and constructionEffective communication skills along with demonstrated supervision skillsSolid planning and problem-solving skills
