Description

Help us build the AI edit assistant living inside DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro. Full-time, salaried role, working directly alongside Simon, our CTO, as the first engineering hire at Nice Touch. Close to the founders, close to the product, in on something real and early. Remote-first. We get together in London roughly once a month for team days and socials. The Vision We're building an entirely new workflow: an AI-powered edit assistant integrated directly into DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro, not a separate app that pulls footage out and hands it back. It stays inside the tools editors already live in. This is buildable now for a reason. Agentic AI that can plan and execute real work, not just generate text, only became reliable enough to trust with a professional edit in the last year or so. That's the window we're building in, and it's why the pace matters. The technical problem is genuinely hard, not just a wrapper around an API. We're spanning two NLEs that will never build for each other, holding project context across sessions in a way neither Adobe nor Blackmagic have any incentive to solve natively. That cross-NLE layer is the actual moat, and it's the kind of problem worth caring about solving properly. We're pre-seed funded, building toward a seed raise and then Series A. This is our first engineering hire so you'll be helping define how the team works from here. How We Work You'll work closely with Simon in an almost pair-programming style, and closely with the rest of the founding team. Our workflow is collaborative and iterative. Lots of back-and-forth, quick feedback loops, rapid iteration on both planning and implementation. We run an AI-agent-orchestrated development process. You'll scope work, write planning documents, hand implementation to coding agents (Cursor Agents, Claude Code, Devin, or similar), review the output critically, and merge when it hits our quality bar. This is not a hand-holding process. You need to be genuinely good at directing agents and spotting where they've gone wrong. We work always-on via Discord video call during the day. You'll need a dedicated workspace, a good microphone and webcam, and strong spoken English, since our collaboration is synchronous and voice-heavy. This matters as much as the technical fit. If you work best heads-down and asynchronous, this isn't the right role. Availability We're flexible on this. Full-time is ideal, but part-time can work too, depending on the right person. If you're coming back from maternity leave, a career break, or need a working pattern that doesn't fit a standard nine-to-five, we still want to hear from you. What matters is that you're reliably present and responsive during the hours you are working, and that the work gets done. We care about output, not hours logged. Standard UK working hours as a baseline, and you'll need to be reliably in one place with a stable connection, not working from a rotation of coffee shops. Technical Profile You think in systems, not just features. You're confident applying critical thinking to architectural planning, comfortable across the full stack, but your strongest skill is React and front-end architecture. Our stack is TypeScript throughout: Electron, React, and NestJS with Prisma. New technologies come up constantly, so you'll need to be comfortable with rapid, effective evaluation and adoption. You have proven experience working in AI-native development workflows in production, not just experimenting with them. Cursor Agents, Claude Code, Devin, or similar. You're used to working with specification-driven development and critically reviewing agent-generated code against requirements. You understand how to ensure AI agents produce well-engineered, robust code, in a repeatable, low-effort process. We're not looking for years of experience for its own sake. We're looking for someone who's already good at this specific way of working, and who wants to keep getting better at it as the tools evolve. Nice to Have Experience with video editing tools, DaVinci Resolve, or Premiere Pro plugin architecture would be a bonus, but it's not a requirement. The Deal Circa ยฃ60,000 Full-time, salaried. A seat close to the founders, as our first engineering hire, on a product already live with early customers, building toward seed and Series A. Interview Process An initial conversation, followed by a practical technical session working through real work. If that goes well, a probation period to make sure it's the right fit on both sides. To Apply Email Simon directly with your CV: simon@nicetouch.app. Tell us about a time you've orchestrated AI coding agents on something real, and what you'd want to build here. We're keen to start talking to the right people now.
