Java Software Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension). Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands. Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate! Experience: 6-8 years. Hybrid: 2 days Work from Home 3 days Work from Office Your Profile & DNA: We are seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to join a leading banking client in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java development, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, RESTful services, and modern software engineering practices. Experience in the banking or payments domain is highly preferred. Roles & Responsibilities Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tools.Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams throughout the software development lifecycle.Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Troubleshoot and resolve application issues while ensuring optimal system performance.Stay updated with emerging technologies and promote the adoption of modern engineering practices. Qualification & Experience A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.Strong software engineering experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Java applications.Experience in the Banking or Payments domain.Azure DevOps experience (Deployments, Repositories, Code Reviews)CI/CD implementation experiencePassion for Open Source technologies.Familiarity with modern software engineering best practices.Ability to work effectively in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
