Description
A new platform and a blank canvas.
The latest React and Next.js, and no old code to drag along.
As a Senior Frontend Developer at UZO in Amsterdam, you build the new Uw Zorg Online platform from scratch.
Millions of people arrange their care here: booking an appointment, requesting a repeat prescription, viewing their file.
You help decide how it looks and how well it works.
You set the standard yourself, instead of inheriting someone else’s.
What will you do?
You build the front-end of the new Uw Zorg Online platform.
Everything you make reaches real patients and their GP.
The better the screen works, the less hassle for the practice and the patient.
Your goal is a product that is fast, accessible and so clear that nobody has to think about it.
Your tasks:
You build the front-end of the new platform from the ground up: the architecture, the component system and the patterns the rest of the team builds on.You work with the latest React and Next.js, on top of a distributed microservices backend.
So you think about API contracts, data flow and resilience.Testing, observability and clear quality standards are part of the job, not an afterthought. You help shape how the team works with AI.
Whatever AI suggests, you review; nothing goes to production unread.Together with design you work on a strong user experience and screens that everyone can use.The team decides on the technology itself.
Your opinion here becomes part of the actual product.
About us
At Health Cloud Initiative (HCI), more than 250 colleagues work towards one goal: better care, easily arranged.
At UZO we work on technology that really helps, for the care provider and for the user.
We do that in an open, involved team with high ambitions and an honest culture.
As a Senior Frontend Developer, you lay the foundation for where that platform is going.
You join the Medea team, which builds the new platform (UZO v2) from scratch.
A greenfield project, so you get plenty of freedom and real influence.
Your manager is Alex, Head of Engineering.
Alex leads like a coach.
He does not hand out tasks, he gets the best out of the people around him.
Together you agree what good work looks like, and then he trusts you to get there your own way.
He gives you a lot of room and challenges you hard, because that is where you grow.
His door is always open and he likes a good joke.
There is one thing he will not accept: treating people unfairly or gaming the system.
Everywhere else, you get trust and freedom.
What do we offer you?
Salary: € 4.000,- to € 5.500,- gross per month based on 40 hours.8% holiday allowance, internet allowance and a good pension scheme.Hybrid working: at our pleasant office in Amsterdam-Zuidoost (close to Holendrecht station) and from home.24 holiday days, with the option to swap public holidays.Travel allowance and a home-workplace allowance.Learning & development: a personal development budget (€ 1,000) and time for training.Job satisfaction: a collegial team with a heart for care and technology.Healthy get-togethers: fresh fruit every day, lunch together and fun team outings.Working at the market leader in healthcare IT: 5,000+ care practices, 4+ million end users, impact at scale.
What do you bring?
You like ownership.
You want a blank canvas, not a long list of tasks.
You make the smallest change that fully solves the problem, and you choose simplicity over clever tricks.
You explain what you do well and you dare to defend a choice.
Solid, senior experience as a front-end developer with a modern framework (React, Vue, Angular or Svelte).
Next.js is a nice plus.Good TypeScript knowledge: types that prevent bugs, not just labels.
You understand how generics work.A strong web foundation (HTTP, browser, CSS) and a feel for accessibility: semantic HTML, keyboard navigation and screen readers.Experience with a component library (for example Storybook) and with AI-assisted development, where you review everything yourself. All roles at HCI require a VOG (certificate of conduct), because we work for the healthcare domain.
