Description

About Nebul At Nebul, we’re building Europe’s sovereign AI cloud — trusted, secure, high-performance, and purpose-built as a European alternative to the American hyperscalers. Our NeoCloud platform is built on Nebul-owned infrastructure and best-of-breed open-source technologies, giving us control from the hardware layer through to the customer-facing cloud services. What You’ll Be Doing As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll help build Nexus, Nebul’s orchestration and management platform. Nexus connects our underlying infrastructure — including compute, GPU capacity, storage, networking, and datacenter services — to the customer-facing Cloud Services and AI teams. Your primary focus will be developing scalable platform services, APIs, controllers, and automation in Go. Nexus enables the automated delivery of: S3 and block storageKubernetes clustersFirewalls and network servicesThis is an API-first and automation-only platform. Customer-facing teams will consume infrastructure exclusively through Nexus APIs and platform components. Key Responsibilities Build scalable platform services, APIs, controllers, and automation in Go.Design the foundational architecture of Nexus.Create abstractions over Kubernetes, storage, compute, networking, and security services.Automate the provisioning and lifecycle management of Kubernetes clusters, S3 storage, block storage, and firewalls.Integrate Nexus with the APIs provided by Nebul’s Platform and Infrastructure teams.Define clean, versioned APIs for customer-facing engineering teams.Implement authentication, authorisation, RBAC, tenant isolation, and policy enforcement.Build asynchronous workflows for long-running infrastructure operations.Ensure all services are observable, resilient, secure, and production-ready.Evaluate and integrate open-source components where they accelerate development.Take ownership of solutions from architecture through production. What Your Day Will Not Look Like Manually provisioning customer infrastructure.Operating Kubernetes clusters through repetitive command-line work.Spending most of your time handling support tickets.Building frontend applications.Developing isolated services without considering the wider platform architecture. What You Bring Strong software engineering experience in Go.Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms.Experience building APIs, controllers, operators, or distributed backend services.Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and GitOps.Experience with asynchronous and event-driven architectures.Understanding of cloud services such as compute, networking, object storage, and block storage.Experience with authentication, authorisation, RBAC, and multi-tenancy.An ownership mindset and the ability to turn infrastructure capabilities into scalable platform services. Bonus Points If You Have Experience building cloud control planes, internal developer platforms, or XaaS products.Knowledge of OpenStack or private cloud platforms.Experience with Kubernetes operators and Custom Resource Definitions.Familiarity with S3-compatible storage, VAST Data, or Ceph.Experience with FortiGate, firewalls, networking automation, or software-defined networking.Knowledge of workflow engines, policy engines such as OPA, or service catalogues.Experience with NVIDIA GPU infrastructure or AI platforms.
