Job Description An Application Support Developer is a hybrid role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing existing software applications while providing 2nd/3rd line technical support. They resolve complex incidents, automate workflows, and deploy updates, bridging the gap between operational support and development to ensure system stability and performance. Location Flexibility: We welcome applications from candidates based in Spain or Poland. This role can be performed hybrid from Barcelona or Warsaw, or fully remotely within either country. Responsibilities Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide 2nd/3rd line support, diagnosing and resolving complex application issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks. Application Maintenance & Enhancement: Maintain, debug, and improve existing applications, often writing code to resolve issues or add minor features. Monitoring & Optimization: Proactively monitor application performance, ensuring high availability, and optimizing systems for better performance. Release Management: Support deployment, release cycles, and environment management. Automation: Automate repetitive tasks and manual processes to improve operational efficiency. Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, knowledge bases, and support guides. Qualifications Required Skills and Qualifications Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, PHP, or .NET. Database Knowledge: Strong SQL skills for querying, debugging, and managing databases. Technical Platforms: Experience with Windows, UNIX/Solaris, and IIS. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on root cause analysis. Experience: Previous experience in application support or software development. Soft Skills: Excellent communication for stakeholder management, and the ability to work in Agile, ITIL-driven environments. Common Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, specific cloud or programming certifications) are often preferred. Salary range varies by location and local market conditions - for Poland only: the annual salary range for this position is 75,000-100,000 PLN gross - and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and other factors. This position is eligible for additional incentive with a target payout of 10% of base salary.
