The role We are looking for a highly analytical QA Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of our complex systems. In this role, you will be a core contributor to our ecosystem's quality, designing test strategies, writing automated test scripts, and validating intricate data flows. While we handle highly specialized payment networks, you do not need to be a fintech expert on day one—we provide a structured training program to fully bring you up to speed on the ISO 8583 protocol and core payment architectures. Responsibilities Test Automation: Design, write, and execute robust automated test scripts to validate system functionalities and API integrations.Master Payment Architectures: Develop a deep understanding of online transaction processing (OLTP) mechanics, including the flows between terminals, acquirers, issuers, and card networks.Validate Complex Data & ISO 8583 Messaging: Analyze technical specifications to validate messaging payloads, ensuring fields and data elements are perfectly structured. You will apply a deep understanding of financial message structures, MTIs (Message Type Indicators), data bitmaps, and field layouts.Simulator & Tool Utilization: Gain hands-on experience using open-source payment libraries (like jPOS) and configure custom internal test tools to orchestrate, parse, and simulate transaction routing mimicking external third-party dependencies.Debugging & Troubleshooting: Perform deep-dive root cause analysis on test failures and system bugs by inspecting application logs, inspecting data payloads, and analyzing system behavior across test environments.Collaborate on System Reliability: Partner closely with core developers to isolate, replicate, and debug complex transactional and data-routing issues discovered during automated or exploratory test runs. Requirements 2-4 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, or a combination of QA and previous experience in a software development role, with a strong focus on testing complex systems and APIs.Solid experience programming in Java. You are comfortable working with object-oriented principles, data structures, and standard libraries. Additionally, proficiency in JavaScript is required for writing assertions and scripts within Postman. Strong experience testing complex processing pipelines and parsing data payloads (such as deeply nested JSON/XML or raw text blocks).Practical experience using and extending automated test frameworks (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured) as well as utilizing Postman for API testing (including writing JavaScript assertions).Strong command of SQL to perform deep data verification (checking database tables, transaction records, or system states post-execution).Comfortable using Linux command-line tools for server navigation, log analysis, and troubleshooting test environments. Plus Points Payment Domain Knowledge (A Plus, Not a Prerequisite): Any prior exposure to financial message formats, with a strong focus on the ISO 8583 standard, is highly valued, but complete training will be provided.Network & Socket Fundamentals: Familiarity with TCP/IP socket communication or analyzing network traffic.Infrastructure & DevOps Tooling: Experience executing tests within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab), Docker, and utilizing version control via Git. Experience with GitLab pipelines is especially valuable to help us maintain our automated tests.
