Platform Engineer

Cloud Platform Engineer Location: Prague, Czech Republic Working Pattern: Hybrid – 1–2 days per week in the office Salary: €40-50k annually The Role Our client is a large international service provider working with a wide range of public sector and governmental organisations across Europe. They are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join their team and play a key role in building and operating the core Azure platform that provides the reliable, automated foundation for application and AI teams. This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on Azure cloud and platform engineering, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, CI/CD and automation. You will work closely with engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure and reliable platform capabilities while helping drive modern DevOps and GitOps practices. The role also takes an AI-first approach, with agentic AI tooling encouraged as the default way of building and delivering solutions. Key Responsibilities Implement and maintain Azure infrastructure-as-code across multiple environments.Build, operate and continuously improve AKS clusters, networking and shared platform services.Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps deployment workflows.Implement robust observability, monitoring, alerting and operational automation.Support cloud cost optimisation through autoscaling, right-sizing and scale-to-zero patterns.Apply an AI-first approach, leveraging agentic AI tooling to improve engineering productivity and delivery.Work within an iterative, board-tracked delivery model using Azure DevOps Boards or GitHub Projects.Participate in peer code reviews and maintain high engineering standards.Keep architecture and technical documentation accurate and up to date as part of the definition of done. Key Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience in Azure cloud and platform engineering, ideally within a large or complex organisation.Proven Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform or Bicep.Strong production experience operating Kubernetes and/or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).Experience with CI/CD and GitOps, using technologies such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.Strong scripting and automation capabilities using Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar.Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.Good written and spoken English language skills are mandatory. Desirable Experience Experience operating platforms supporting AI, machine learning or data workloads.Strong networking knowledge, including Private Link and VNet peering.Exposure to FinOps, cloud cost management and cost-control tooling.
