Be part of our exciting journey! 🚀 What you'll do As a Software Engineer on our backend engineering squad, you'll contribute to the development and delivery of the real-time data APIs our business depends on. Your role is hands-on: you'll code, test, and learn from the engineers around you, while growing your ability to work independently. You're always looking for ways we can get better. You'll work closely with your Team Technical Lead, senior engineers, and the wider team to build reliable, scalable solutions delivered on time and to a high standard. Your responsabilities will include: Developing and implementing features and enhancements for our real-time data APIs, working within the technical direction set by your Team Technical Lead and senior engineers.Writing clean, efficient, maintainable code and build solid automated test coverage as part of your day-to-day work. You'll take part in peer code reviews, including group open reviews.Taking part in all our Agile ceremonies and in demonstrating features to stakeholders. You'll bring ideas for how we can improve our engineering practices.Working closely with your Team Technical Lead, senior engineers, quality engineer, and product managers to deliver good features aligned with team and business goals. What you will work with: Java 21 and Spring suite (Spring Boot, Spring security..)Reactive Programming (Project Reactor / Netty)Asynchronous APIsKafka or RabbitMQDockerKubernetesHelmArgoCDCI/CD pipelinesPostgreSQLDBUnitTDD / BDDPrometheusGrafanaMicrometer What you'll bring Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.3+ years of backend software engineering experience.Experience building and maintaining REST and/or event-driven APIs.Experience working on production systems with defined uptime/latency expectations; real-time data experience is a plus.Good working knowledge of Java 21 and Spring Boot 4+ / Spring 7+, building production services.Experience implementing RESTful APIs and reading Swagger-documented API specifications; exposure to WebSocket or async APIs is a plus.Familiarity with Maven, CI/CD tooling (e.g. Bamboo or ArgoCD).Working knowledge of Docker. Kubernetes is a plus.Git-based version control (Bitbucket and/or GitLab), and issue tracking in Jira.Working knowledge of PostgreSQL for both DDL and DML; exposure to schema migration tooling such as Liquibase is a plus.Some exposure to Redis or similar caching/in-memory systems is a plus.Automated-testing experience with JUnit, and exposure to TDD/BDD practices; familiarity with Testcontainers, WireMock, or SonarQube is a plus.Exposure to event-driven messaging (Kafka or RabbitMQ) is a plus.Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Micrometer, Grafana) is a plus.Experience with Playwright for end-to-end test automation.Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (React or Angular) and TypeScript, for occasional back-office tooling work. Nice to Have Background in iGaming, sports betting, or real-time sports data.Experience with regulatory or compliance considerations in regulated industries (e.g., data licensing or gambling) is a bonus.Kubernetes/container platform certifications are a plus.Experience with Selenium or Cypress is a plus.
