We’re looking for an Android Mobile Engineer to join our Customer Touchpoints team and help deliver seamless, high-performing mobile experiences used by millions of customers across Aotearoa and around the world.
This is a newly created role within our customer mobile app space, giving you the opportunity to influence how we build, evolve, and scale our Android capability from the ground up.

What you’ll be doing
Build and enhance native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack ComposeDeliver high-quality mobile features from concept through to release and ongoing supportCollaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA and Engineers in an agile product environmentContribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing practices, and app store deployment processesSupport mobile solutions that meet performance, accessibility, security, and usability standardsHelp identify and reduce technical debt to improve long-term product quality and maintainabilityProvide reliable application support and contribute to continuous improvement across the mobile platform.
What we’re looking for
At least 2+ years’ experience in software engineering, including native Android developmentStrong experience with Kotlin and Jetpack ComposeUnderstanding of mobile application architecture, engineering patterns, and release practicesExperience working with testing frameworks, CI/CD tooling, and version control systemsFamiliarity with RESTful APIs, mobile dependency management, observability, and crash analysisKnowledge of Agile or Lean delivery practices and collaborative product team environmentsStrong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplinesRelevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experienceExposure to backend-for-frontend patterns and cloud platforms such as AWS is an advantage, not essential.
