Product Engineer — Early-Stage AI Startup Location: San Francisco, CA Work style: In office Monday–Thursday, remote Friday Compensation: $150K–$230K base + meaningful equity Visa: Sponsorship / transfer support available for qualified candidates Our client is an early-stage AI company building an agentic platform for complex enterprise software implementations. Their product helps project teams capture knowledge, automate repetitive workflows, surface risks, and deploy AI agents across large-scale ERP and back-office transformation projects. This is a high-ownership product engineering role for someone who wants to build across the full stack, work close to customers, and own meaningful parts of the product end-to-end. What you’ll do Build full-stack product features across frontend, backend, data workflows, and AI/agentic systemsOwn product surfaces from idea to production, including architecture, implementation, deployment, and iterationWork directly with customer pain points and translate messy enterprise workflows into scalable softwareBuild LLM-powered features, agent workflows, retrieval systems, and automation toolingMove quickly in a small, highly technical team where engineers own outcomes, not just ticketsHelp shape the product and engineering culture as the team scales What we’re looking for 0–5 years of experience as a software engineer, full-stack engineer, or product engineerStrong CS fundamentals and ability to reason through technical tradeoffsExperience shipping real products or features to users; internships, startup work, and ambitious side projects all countFull-stack ability, ideally with TypeScript / React on the frontend and Python / FastAPI on the backendExperience or strong interest in LLM-powered products, agentic workflows, retrieval, or AI automationClear signs of ambition and ownership, such as founder experience, hackathons, serious side projects, open-source work, or early-stage startup experienceComfort with ambiguity, fast iteration, and working in a high-intensity startup environment Nice to have Experience at an early-stage startup, especially one that grew meaningfully during your time thereExperience building B2B, enterprise, ERP-adjacent, fintech, procurement, accounting, or back-office automation productsFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure, SQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Temporal, Kubernetes, or distributed systemsExperience working close to customers, consultants, operators, or enterprise users Why this is exciting This is a chance to join a small, talent-dense team building AI into one of the most complex and expensive areas of enterprise software.
