Mid-Level Software Developer

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Mid-Level Software Developer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for a developer with experience building scalable applications, working with cloud infrastructure, and contributing to data-driven platforms and services. Our company develops decision engines, underwriting systems, model execution platforms, data platforms, and business intelligence solutions focused on the consumer and commercial lending industries. The ideal candidate is excited about solving complex technical problems in a highly analytical, data-centric, and model-driven environment and contributing across multiple areas of the software stack. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and servicesCollaborate with engineering, analytics, operations, and business stakeholders across internal and external teamsDevelop and maintain integrations with internal and external data sourcesWrite and optimize SQL queries and interact with relational databases and data warehousesBuild backend systems and APIs using PythonContribute to the development of client-facing platforms such as underwriting systems, decision engines, and model execution platformsWork with cloud infrastructure and services, primarily within Amazon Web Services (AWS)Participate in CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release processesTroubleshoot production issues and contribute to system reliability and performance improvementsParticipate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices and technical documentation Required Qualifications 3+ years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming principlesExperience working with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWSWorking knowledge of SQL and relational databasesExperience using Git-based version control workflowsExperience writing and maintaining automated tests and familiarity with CI/CD concepts and workflowsStrong analytical, problem-solving, testing, and debugging skillsAbility to communicate technical concepts clearly and work collaboratively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with frontend development technologies such as JavaScript, React, HTML/CSS, or similar frameworksFamiliarity with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systemsExperience working with financial services, lending, underwriting, risk, or credit-related platformsExposure to data engineering concepts, ETL pipelines, or data warehouse technologiesExperience with containerization technologies such as DockerFamiliarity with Agile software development methodologiesExperience working with large datasets and data-intensive applicationsFamiliarity with statistical modeling, predictive analytics, or machine learning workflowsExperience using data analysis tools and libraries such as Pandas or NumPy Nice to Have Experience supporting machine learning or statistical model deployment workflowsExposure to workflow orchestration or event-driven architecturesExperience with monitoring, observability, and logging platformsUnderstanding of security and compliance considerations in financial systems
