About The Role We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, deploy and maintain software applications and digital platforms supporting our construction, automotive and industrial operations. This is an office-based role at our Collie, WA site, working closely with management, operations, project delivery, procurement, finance, sales, marketing and external technology providers. You'll translate operational and business requirements into secure, maintainable and scalable software solutions โ€” developing frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, data models, system integrations, reporting solutions and workflow automation, while maintaining clear technical documentation and reliable production support. What You'll Be Doing Consulting with directors, managers and operational users to identify business needs and digital improvement opportunitiesGathering, analysing and documenting functional and non-functional requirementsTranslating business requirements into technical designs, architecture, data models and implementation plansDeveloping responsive frontend applications using JavaScript, React, Vue.js, HTML5 and CSS3Building backend services and RESTful APIs using Java/Spring Boot, Python or Node.jsDesigning and maintaining databases using SQL, MySQL or PostgreSQLIntegrating internal applications with CRM, finance, document-management and third-party platformsDeveloping data-processing, reporting and dashboard solutions using BI tools where appropriateManaging source code with Git, and supporting CI/CD via Jenkins, Webpack or equivalentDeploying and maintaining applications on AWS or AzureApplying authentication, authorisation, encryption and access-control best practicesConducting unit, integration, system, regression, performance and UAT testingProviding post-deployment support and driving continuous improvement across business-critical systems What We're Looking For Essential Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Technology, Information Technology or a related disciplineRelevant professional experience in software engineering, full-stack development, web application development, backend systems or business application deliveryProficiency in JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js or similar), HTML5 and CSS3Experience with backend development and RESTful APIs (Java/Spring Boot, Python, Node.js or similar)Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL or similar)Experience with Git, testing, debugging, deployment and cloud environments (AWS or Azure)Eligibility to work in Australia, or ability to meet relevant visa and sponsorship requirements Desirable: Experience in industrial, construction, automotive, engineering, field-service or asset-management environmentsExperience with PRDs, release planning or technical product deliveryExperience with CMS/portal technologies (e.g. Drupal) and reusable frontend componentsFamiliarity with BI/data-visualisation tools (e.g. FineBI, FineVis)Experience integrating with CRM, finance, project-management, inventory or workforce platformsFamiliarity with Jenkins, Webpack, cloud monitoring and production support Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, product-minded approachExcellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaborativelyInitiative, accountability and a commitment to continuous learning Why Join Us?
