About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer (Linux) to support and enhance critical Linux and cloud environments across Tasmania.
Working as part of the Hobart engineering team and a broader national engineering group, you will be responsible for maintaining secure, highly available infrastructure, managing incidents, supporting platform improvements, and contributing to operational excellence in mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, including patching, upgrades, hardening, and lifecycle management.Perform daily operational health checks, monitoring, and reporting.Support infrastructure across Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and meet SLA requirements.Participate in a 24x7 on-call roster and maintain ownership of incidents through resolution.Support security, vulnerability remediation, risk management, and change control processes.Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.Collaborate with local and national engineering teams to improve platform stability, resilience, and security.
Required Skills & Experience
RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) โ MandatoryStrong RHEL/Linux administration experience.Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and mission-critical environments.Experience with Azure and/or AWS.Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and problem-solving skills.Experience with system patching, upgrades, and security hardening.Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.Ability to work in a hybrid environment from Hobart.Ability to obtain a mandatory police check.
Desirable Experience
Exposure to OT (Operational Technology) or industrial environments.Experience in utilities, critical infrastructure, or Managed Services (MSP) environments.
