We are hiring three software development engineers to deliver gap capability work packages on integrated command and control systems in The Hague. It is a genuine mix of new build and the harder, more interesting job of modernising software that has been in service for years. What You Will Be Doing Developing, deploying and maintaining server side logic in Java and PythonDesigning data schemas and writing solid SQL behind themWorking to proper engineering discipline: Git for versioning, CI and CD through Jenkins or GitLab, rigorous automated testingRunning your work on Linux, with container engines such as Podman or DockerTranslating UI and UX designs into responsive web applications with Angular or ReactDebugging older code bases and modernising legacy systems What you will need Recent, hands on experience across Java, Python and SQLComfort with Git, Jenkins or GitLab pipelines, and automated testing as a habit rather than an afterthoughtLinux, plus Podman or DockerAngular or React in productionEvidence you have taken on someone else's legacy code and made it betterHibernate, Protocol Buffers, gRPC, Ansible, Kubernetes, event streaming, Spring or command and control applications are all a bonus Why this one is worth a look Three positions on the same package, so you would be joining a team rather than landing alone.
