The role The Core Infrastructure Engineering Team owns and operates the foundational services that G-Research engineers rely on every day, from infrastructure automation and CI tooling to the platforms that keep the business running. As a Core Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliability, evolution and day-to-day operation of these critical services. You will ensure they are scalable, well-automated and meet the needs of a demanding engineering organisation. You will bring solid infrastructure experience across Windows and Linux environments, a pragmatic approach to automation and a genuine sense of ownership for the services you support. Key responsibilities of the role include: Owning and operating Terraform Enterprise appliance, including upgrades, availability, backups and user supportManaging and evolving Active Directory, Windows Bastion Hosts and inventoryMaintaining and improving Jenkins CI infrastructureAutomating service provisioning, configuration and lifecycle managementEnsuring services are monitored, documented and recoverableCollaborating with platform and application teams to deliver infrastructure solutionsParticipating in the out-of-hours on-call rotation Who are we looking for? The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: Experience operating and automating infrastructure services in an enterprise environmentExperience across Windows and Linux environments, including Windows Server and Active Directory administrationStrong infrastructure as code skills, with an interest in AI-driven infrastructure managementExperience with Jenkins pipeline management and administrationScripting experience in PowerShell, Python or bothExperience managing self-hosted application platforms, including upgrades, patching and monitoringProven experience owning services end to end, including deployment, monitoring, incident response and improvement Desirable experience: Experience with inventory or CMDB platforms, Terraform or HCL literacy, certificate management, Kubernetes and Linux desktop support Why join us?
