Workday Extend Apps & Configuration Developer
📍 Vancouver, BC (Hybrid) | Full-Time Permanent or Full-Time Contract
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid – a few days onsite).
Remote contractors residing in the Vancouver area may also be considered.
We're hiring a Workday Extend Apps & Configuration Developer to join a collaborative enterprise applications team supporting one of Canada's leading universities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building custom Workday solutions, developing integrations, and working closely with business stakeholders to enhance a complex Workday ecosystem.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and maintain custom applications using Workday Extend.Build and support integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, REST/SOAP APIs, and Workday Web Services.Configure and enhance the Workday platform across HR, Finance, Payroll, and Student functional areas.Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.Perform troubleshooting, testing, deployment, and ongoing support for Workday applications and integrations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new functionality and platform enhancements.Create technical documentation, solution designs, and knowledge transfer materials.Support Workday releases, system upgrades, and continuous platform improvements.What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience supporting or developing enterprise ERP applications (Workday strongly preferred).Hands-on experience with Workday Extend, Workday Studio, EIB, integrations, and Workday APIs.Strong understanding of Workday configuration, business processes, security, and reporting.Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, XSLT, or JavaScript.Strong business analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Nice to Have
Workday certifications (Extend, Studio, HCM, Finance, etc.).Experience supporting multiple Workday modules (HCM, Finance, Payroll, and Student).Experience in higher education or another large, complex enterprise environment.Familiarity with DevOps practices, Jira, ServiceNow, source control, or Workday Prism Analytics.
