Location: Hybrid (Remote + In-Office) Office Location: Lehi, UT 84043 Job Description As a DevOps Engineer at Digital Harbor, you will play a critical role in building, automating, and scaling the cloud platform that powers our SaaS products. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with software engineers to improve developer productivity, automate software delivery, and build reliable, secure infrastructure that enables rapid product innovation. This role is ideal for someone who began their career as a Software Engineer or Software Developer and transitioned into DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering. You understand modern software development because you've built software yourself and now enjoy improving how software is delivered at scale. Your primary objective will be to build world-class cloud infrastructure and developer platforms that empower engineering teams to rapidly deliver secure, scalable enterprise software. Experience working within a software product company or SaaS organization is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Build, automate, and deploy application code through modern CI/CD pipelines. Design, provision, and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure. Build and maintain developer platforms that improve engineering productivity and deployment reliability. Design and optimize Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) environments. Automate cloud infrastructure and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code. Partner daily with Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Product teams, and Architects to improve developer experience and software delivery. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application availability, scalability, performance, and reliability. Support modern microservices-based architectures, container orchestration, and cloud-native applications. Contribute to software development initiatives using technologies such as Java/Spring Boot and JavaScript/Node.js. Research emerging technologies, build proof-of-concept solutions, and recommend improvements to engineering platforms. Required Qualifications Experience Professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or similar software-focused engineering role before transitioning into DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering strongly preferred. 3+ years of DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE experience supporting modern software delivery. Experience working within a software product company or SaaS organization strongly preferred. Experience partnering closely with software engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Demonstrated ownership of engineering platforms, automation, and cloud infrastructure. AWS & Cloud Technologies Strong experience with AWS services including ECS, EC2, S3, CloudFront, IAM, VPC, and related cloud technologies. Experience designing and supporting highly available, multi-tier cloud architectures. Experience automating cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code. Programming & Development Strong software development experience using Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, or similar programming languages.Comfortable reading, debugging, and contributing application code when necessary. Experience using Git-based workflows within CI/CD environments. Strong understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, and microservices architectures. Experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes. Infrastructure & Databases Knowledge of Linux system administration. Familiarity with Elasticsearch and Redis. Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases. Experience supporting highly available cloud-native infrastructure. Methodologies & Collaboration Experience working within Agile software development environments. Experience collaborating with distributed engineering teams. Familiarity with Jira and modern engineering collaboration tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working in a remote-first engineering organization. Engineering Mindset Builder mentality with strong ownership of engineering outcomes. Passion for improving developer productivity through automation. Leads by example as a highly collaborative individual contributor. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) platforms. Experience with CI/CD technologies such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments. Previous experience working for a software product company or SaaS organization. Experience supporting engineering organizations building commercial software products. Experience building developer platforms or internal engineering tooling. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
