We're looking for a Backend Platform Engineer to join our fintech client and help build the backend of their Internal Developer Platform (IDP). You'll develop the services that power the platform, integrating them with Azure, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, identity services, and governance tools. This is an end-to-end ownership role, where you'll build, deploy, monitor, and support the services you develop. Responsibilities: Develop backend services and APIs for the Internal Developer Platform.Build provisioning workflows and integrate with Azure services, GitHub, Terraform/OpenTofu, identity providers, and policy engines.Design and maintain the platform data model, ensuring auditability, traceability, and state consistency.Develop resilient asynchronous workflows with queues, retries, idempotent operations, and error handling.Implement secure authentication and authorization using Entra ID, managed identities, and RBAC.Write unit and integration tests, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and deploy services to production.Monitor, troubleshoot, and support production services using health checks, logging, dashboards, and alerts.Produce technical documentation, including API specifications and operational runbooks. Requirements: Strong experience with .NET 8 / C# backend development.Experience building REST APIs, OpenAPI integrations, and webhooks.Knowledge of Azure SQL and/or PostgreSQL, including Entity Framework Core and code-first migrations.Experience with asynchronous processing, queues, retries, state management, and idempotent operations.Hands-on experience integrating with Azure services (ARM, Resource Graph, Key Vault, Storage, etc.).Good understanding of OAuth/OIDC, Entra ID, managed identities, RBAC, secure secrets management, and auditability.Experience with Git workflows, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and production deployments.Strong understanding of testing (unit and integration), observability (OpenTelemetry), monitoring, and production support.Ability to take ownership of services throughout their entire lifecycle. Strong pluses: Experience with Platform Engineering, Internal Developer Platforms, developer portals, or service catalogues.Hands-on experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi, or Crossplane.Knowledge of Azure Policy, Azure Cost Management, or FinOps.Experience with event-driven architectures (Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ).Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, or Kubernetes operators/controllers.Familiarity with policy engines (OPA/Rego, Cedar) and enterprise integrations (ServiceNow, Jira). 🚀 Do you recognize yourself in the "Who" and represent the "What"?
