Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Cloud

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Cloud , you'll play a critical role in leading the transition of our Windows infrastructure platforms to Cloud, helping reshape the environment into a scalable, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) driven platform. You'll partner closely with platform, security, automation and engineering teams to uplift engineering capability, improve operational resilience, and drive adoption of modern cloud engineering practices across AWS, Azure and on-premises environments. This role combines hands-on engineering, thought leadership, infrastructure transformation and stakeholder engagement. You'll be instrumental in establishing engineering standards, improving cloud maturity, embedding operational excellence, and shaping the future of Windows infrastructure engineering at IAG. This is a permanent full-time role based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Ōtautahi (Christchurch). Ngā Mahi Hei Whakatutuki Māu | What You'll Do Lead the operational uplift of cloud and infrastructure platforms, with an initial focus on stabilising and transforming an AWS environment.Drive Infrastructure as Code, automation and software-defined infrastructure practices using tools such as Terraform and GitHub Actions.Design and deliver scalable, secure and resilient infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure and on-premises environments.Improve operational excellence by embedding reliability, monitoring, disaster recovery, resilience and Day 2 operational readiness into compute services.Establish engineering standards, governance controls and cloud guardrails that support compliance, security and risk management requirements.Coach and influence engineers, uplifting cloud, automation and Infrastructure as Code capabilities across the Windows Infrastructure team.Champion AI-enabled engineering practices and identify opportunities to improve productivity, developer experience and platform operations through automation and emerging technologies. Ōu Pūkenga me ōu Wheako | What You'll Bring Demonstrated experience designing and operating infrastructure in enterprise cloud platforms.Strong expertise across AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.Deep understanding of Windows infrastructure and cloud services.Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.Experience with CI/CD platforms, GitHub Actions and modern automation tooling.Exposure to configuration management technologies such as Ansible, Chocolatey or similar toolsStrong understanding of operational resilience, disaster recovery and platform support models.
