Software Engineer (Java/Kotlin) Location: Kongsberg, Norway We're partnering with a leading Norwegian technology consultancy to find an experienced Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and building high-quality software in collaborative, agile teams. The Role As a Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining robust applications using Java and Kotlin. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performing software while contributing to architectural decisions and engineering best practices. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys building quality software, solving challenging problems and working closely with both colleagues and customers. Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade software applications using Java and Kotlin.Deliver clean, maintainable and well-tested code.Work closely with architects, product teams and fellow engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to solution architecture.Identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability and reliability.Take ownership of features from concept through to deployment.Share knowledge and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture. Skills & Experience We're looking for engineers who can demonstrate: Minimum 4 years' commercial software development experience.Strong experience with Java and/or Kotlin.Experience building modern backend applications.Good understanding of object-oriented design principles and software architecture.Experience working within Agile development teams.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.A passion for writing high-quality, maintainable code. Requirements Norwegian language skills at B2 level or above (spoken and written).Eligible to work in Norway.Comfortable working from the Kongsberg office as required.
